Last set of photos

Some of the last photos for my own personal documentation of the marketing plan bags (Bagajeans). I made sure I took a picture of all the bags for posterity! The rest are uploaded on my Flickr and on my multiply for back up, as always.

I can’t be a photographer so forgive the nasty shots. Most of it were done in a hurry. As always.

Be the Bag

08/09 Finished the “commercial”. It is so messy and the timing is off but I didn’t have enough time to fix it up. I made it a day before presentation. Eek.

These are stills that are part of the commercial I’m making for the bags. But I can’t choose the perfect song. I don’t know how the overall timing of the commercial, upbeat or dead slow? Anyway, I’m super thankful that our presentation has been moved to Thursday. The written report will be submitted tomorrow (!!) but the power point and video and posters blah blah will all be on Thursday. I haven’t studied for my Finama test yet. Ohnooo.

Bagmaking Part III

My groupmates chose my recycled denim jeans bag as the product for our marketing plan. I can tell they were excited about having customized bags (well, except the two guys in our group) and I was pretty excited too. I haven’t sewn anything in weeks. That is, until their old jeans started pouring in.

Mom's sewing machine
My mom’s 30+ year old Singer sewing machine. I stared at it more than the computer screen this week. What a miracle.

For the past few days, with the exception of Saturday of course, I’ve done nothing but cut and sew ridiculously thick denim jeans and poke thread through needles. I need to make two presentable denim bags, one for girls and one for guys for our presentation and so far I’m only partially done with the GUY bag. I haven’t looked for good fabrics for lining yet and blah blah blah.

Here are two of the three bags I’ve worked on so far and more photos on Flickr:

White Lady - July 19

Watch White Lady on July 19

The only reason why I’m plugging this is because my uncle is the screenwriter. :D I don’t like horror movies or any of the actors in this movie, but ehh.. it’s family!

And… here are pictures of the new bag that I made from (whatelse) old jeans! It’s smaller than the last one. I don’t have the time to put lining and the straps yet. Whoops. It still needs a LOT of work.

Boredom Killer #2: Make a bag

I made a denim bag out of my old jeans. I got inspired by one of the image pools of DIY bags at Flickr. The bag doesn’t have lining and straps in it yet when I took the pictures but it’s currently being machine-sewn by my mom. :) I know how to use the sewing machine but I’m not very good at it yet.

I basically came up with the not-so-original design and started sewing the denim pieces together. When I was done with the bag itself, it was simply a mess! My running stitch looks like crap. And so my mom (happy mother’s day!) offered ever so kindly to “strengthen” the bag by sewing it on the machine. Here are three pictures of the unfinished bag.

The bag looks big because it is big! I have huge waist, duh. It’s a school bag, anyway. I plan to put more stuff on the outside as it looks plain as ever. It’s my first attempt to complete a homemade bag! I tried to make one from a cotton t-shirt but ehh.. It ended up looking like a mop. Trapo. :)

EDIT I finished the bag like more than a month ago and I’m only posting pictures today!
